Let's Go Party!

If you are like me, and love a good theme, then we are in good company!! I love themed parties and good puns or wording to go with them! Here are parties I've thrown for my kids over the years. I have 3 girls and we love parties 🥳

STRAWBERRY THEME

Our first daughter's 1st birthday was planned around a strawberry theme. The day it was planned on, was also when a small town outside where we lived was having an annual Strawberry Festival. I wanted to go and what a fun theme. I grew up loving strawberry shortcake tv show so I ran with it. Problem was, you can't bring outside food, so we improvised and made it happen in the parking lot.

Had the shirt made by a friend who does shirts "Keeping it Caylor"

I made the banner out of colored cardstock paper and printed pictures off the internet. The letters were punched out on a die cut machine during my break at school. We used the cars to string it across.

Simple and easy. Water bottles, pink polka dot plates with green striped napkins to match the colors

Water bottle labels were made off etsy...

Made treat bags with strawberry candies

The cake and cupcakes were done by a friend of mine who makes cakes on the side

Once the cake and presents were done we went back in to the festival and rode rides, ate all kinds of strawberry flavored foods and had a great time. I didn't have to do a lot of cleaning up, entertaining, games, cooking of any food because it was all provided by the festival! BEST IDEA for a party EVER... Just show up!

SESAME STREET

She loved Elmo and his friends at this age! Easter was so close to her birthday most times they sold Elmo eggs so I snatched some knowing I could reuse them. I did as favors! The favors were also small playdoughs that came 4 to a pack. I stuck a label I made on word with a picture I found off the internet and printed a label that fit through my printer. Slapped it on top of the label that came on the container so it hid them. We went to Chucky Cheese since it has games and food and entertainment. For her birthday we took her to Sea World where they have the Sesame Street characters that you can see!

I made the sign that sat on the table. My mother in law has a machine that cuts shapes and paper letters so I used that for the "Hallie Street" part. The wreath part is a raffia wreath frame with miniature balloons pinned individually on and around it. YES! I did that! Over spring break week, I visited my mom but ended up gettting very sick. All I could do was sit on the couch to pass the time. She watched the little while I sat on the couch curled up. When she napped, I did the balloon wreath!

For her birthday, we took her to Sea World where they have the Sesame Street characters that you can see! If you are a teacher, you get a free pass and if your child is up to a certain age they get in free as well, so we just paid for 1 ticket!

CARE BEARS

After we moved into a house that we were renting it was time to save the money and do parties at our house! In the years past, we were in small tiny apartments or in a tiny condo but not a lot of room for family and friends. This time, we had the space and jobs to pay for an actual party with friends and family to comfortably enjoy.

We placed streamers down the hall from the front door to lead people to the party. My dad placed them on the ceiling with tape. The sign I made out of poster board and tried to make her E into a 3 since that's how old she was turning.

She was obsessed with care bears and watched them constantly when we weren't at school. I think we owned 1 movie I found from my childhood that she watched over and over. I found at target or walmart these figurines I used around the tables. She already owned multiple stuffed care bears, I just brought them out and used them on the tables as well.

I had playdough out for in case it rained and we got stuck inside and crayons in a bucket as a party favor since they are rainbow colors. The plastic tablecloth with stripes was bought at Party City with the balloons and some of the candy that went with the crayon favors.

We got a quilt from a friend that had the care bears on them so I pulled it out and used it for the gifts table "cover."

The gumballs were bought at Party City and placed in rainbow order and I stuck a #3 candle in with it for affect.

We had some munchies that she enjoys snacking on like cheese and crackers, veggies and some fruit (in a rainbow shape with puffy cloud marshmallows)

The favors were made out of a bag of skittles, a snack size baggie and a cardstock paper with a picture off the internet of the care bears I put in a word document and printed off. I added the candy lollipops I bought at Party City around the favors on the tray.

I drew on a poster the pink care bear for the game of "pin the belly on the bear". The belly was a circle I cut from card stock paper and colored a rainbow on them. She didn't like the blindfold concept so we used plastic play sunglasses and I placed black paper over them so you couldn't see through.

The cake I bought as just a cheap white cake. I added leftover skittles to it in the shape of 3

This birthday girl loved all things care bear/rainbows. She even got 2 more DVD care bear movies as a gift!

SHERIFF CALLIE

We dubbed it Sheriff Hallie instead. The invite was bought off etsy. We just had our 2nd child 2 weeks before so this party had lots of help to make it work.

She was the only one dressed in a "cowgirl" outfit. Everyone else was given a bandana as the "bandits."
I found either at Target or Walmart, Sheriff Callie figurines. I used those as a cake topper and around the food. I saw on pinterest the food label ideas and used some and made my own.

The cactus was made with a watermelon and toothpicks. I got a dollar tree plastic hat for the top and 2 pickles pocked with a kabob stick.

The cake was an HEB bought cake with the colors of her choice. I got the candle and figurine to go on top.

1ST DAY OF SCHOOL PENCIL FOR TEACHER GIFT

I bought her 2 teachers a mentos candy roll and used a few hershey candies. I used cardstock paper and glue sticks to make what looks like a large pencil. For the eraser, I cut pink construction paper and glued it to the end. With a little ribbon and a small punched circle for the tag, Wa-La!

GENDER REVEAL

We didn't do a gender reveal for the first. It wasn't really a thing like it is now. We were going to find out a few days before Thanksgiving, so we figured we would let everyone guess what baby is and guess a name and then we would tell them by the color/taste of the frozen yogurt. My family lives in a town where the frozen yogurt place was called Spoons. It happened to be the nickname that older sister named the baby. She said the sonogram picture looked like a small spoon so she named it "spoons" right at the beginning. When the time came, we actually found out a few days before the original so I made her a jacket with the words on the front painted, "I'm gonna have..." and then on the shirt I ironed on the letters "a sister" with her handprints. If it was a boy then I would have had "a brother" with boy colored paint (green and blue). So she wore it when we told one set of grandparents.

For my family we went to the frozen yogurt place Spoons, told them the story about how sister called baby spoons and we were doing a reveal. I wanted to use their bowls since they had blue and pink colored bowls with the name on it. I also had them donate pink and blue spoons from them. We bought the pink lemonade flavored yogurt they had that I happen to LOVE and it came in a white container which made it easy to walk in and hide!

The time came when we told everyone for desert after the big Thanksgiving meal every was going to guess the baby gender and give a suggestion for a name. Then they were to get the bowl color in the gender they thought it was with the spoon. I brought out the yogurt and had older sister announce "I'm gonna have a sister!" She then opened the container of pink frozen yogurt and we let everyone have a bowl of it.

She was such a proud older sister who was SO excited to have a little sister to play with and be best friends with!

1st BIRTHDAY/PINK & GOLD

I bought a small cake at HEB for the smash cake pictures. Borrowed the fluffy shorts from a friend and used fake pearls to make it more girly. The #1 I spray painted pink and glued polka dots on with gold paper.

The shirt was made by a friend with a machine that cuts vinyl and the shorts with a pink bow were bought off Etsy.

Spray painted with pink the letter O and E (bought at Hobby Lobby) and gold for the N. I used a silhouette with gold paper and cut the crown. Hobby Lobby also sold gold cupcake holders which I bought to go with the theme.

Bought the cake and cupcakes to match at HEB and sprinkled gold flake sprinkles on the top of each. Bought the #1 topper at Hobby Lobby with the gold flaked cardstock paper as the bottom.

Thanks Pintrest for the idea. I had saved some baby food jars for this party. I spray painted the lids light pink then hot glued the mini crowns on the top. Filled the jars with similar jelly beans as a favor.

Sprayed a shadow box shelf same color as a lift off the bar top and then used the same shelf in her room.

  NINJA TURTLES

Thanks Pinterest for the cupcake idea! She liked the orange guy so the cupcake papers were orange from hobby lobby. The eyes were candies and I used gel for the smiley face and a fruit roll up I cut for the stripe over the eyes. I arranged them in the shape of a #5 on a large cookie sheet to take to the party.

We went to the skating rink where they provided the food, drinks and fun. I bought a large 5 balloon and the kids made handprint ninja turtles that they made at the party to take home. For favors I got plastic ninja turtles cups and filled with a few candies, ninja turtles bubble and pencil I found at Party City.

PLACE HOLDER TURKEY

For Thanksgiving we had family coming in to our house, we were hosting for the first time. I made these cute little turkey place holders. I bought white tule and cut it into small squares, yellow, orange and brown pipe cleaners that I cut into smaller pieces and some fall colored M&Ms. I scooped the candy into the tule square, tied it with a small rubber band. Stuck the yellow pipe cleaner into the square and made the feet, tied the red and orange around to make the beak and waddle and hot glued the google eyes on the end of the face to make it look like a turkey. Didn't take very long to make these guys and they turned out Perfect!

Oh TWO-dles Birthday

For her 2nd birthday, she was all about Minnie and watching them was her favorite. I had my creative friend make her shirt.

I bought a Mickey cookie cutter and used it for the rice crispy treats that we later used to put the candle in (she didn't like cake)

We had a veggie tray and a fruit tray with watermelon, blueberries and strawberries. I used the watermelon core to make a mickey face with toothpicks to hold them together. (cut the 2 ends and placed for ears and middle to make the face. Filled with the watermelon to hide the hole from the back to see)

I had bought a paper mache #2 and painted it black on the top half and pink for the bottom half. I painted on the white polka dots over the pink to make it look like Minnie's dress. Then added 2 black cardstock circles for the ears on top and hot glued them on.

Peppa Pig

My oldest is in LOVE with peppa. She wanted this theme so bad and I had a lot of things pink laying around that could go with the theme. I was giving some pink hanging balls and so I hung them from the lights and added pink construction paper cut into ear shapes and snout. I punched out black eyes and drew on the nostrils for the nose. I already had the plastic pink flowers in a vase so I placed the vase inside her rain boots she already had. I found the pink watering can at hobby lobby and the clips with chalkboard tags.

This year I made her cake. I used the chocolate icing because it looks like mud. I sprinkled the green sprinkles on top to look like grass. She had some peppa pig figures she played with so I used them on top as they look to be playing in the muddy puddle. I wrapped the cake around with kit-kat candy bars and to keep it still, I placed a ribbon around the bottom to keep it from falling.

I had some pink check pattern containers I used for the forks and got pink plates for the food.
I found peppa plates for the cake and kids to use with peppa napkins. I also got little bowls for the "rain clouds" made with blue cotton candy. (The plates, napkins, and bowls I found with the balloons at Party City)
